All I Can Say Is......"Ouch!"

*************************************
Hey y'all......

Well, I first saw the short video clip below on "The Daily News" on E! tonight.

Then I saw it featured on one of the many media websites I visit.....ya know, the ones I surf when I should be doing something productive like laundry, cleaning the bathroom or flossing my teeth.

Hmmm.......

Let's just say, this one has viral video written all over it.

There was apparently a little "runway mishap" at a fashion show during Charleston Fashion Week 2008. (Not to be confused with the lesser-known New York Fashion Week).

It involved a proud boutique owner, who came out on the runway following the models.

Check it out:

Is it just me -- or does it seem awfully strange that when the poor gal falls......most of the audience (and even some of the models) don't even seem to flinch -- some people even......continue clapping.

! ! !

I mean, I like Blondie and their song "Call Me" as much as the next gal -- but seriously......that chick needed some assistance!

And then.....help appears, in the form of 3 strapping men -- then one of the rescuers goes down.

Yikes!

And where is she? She just disappears. I truly think the runway swallowed her whole.

Like I said: "Ouch!"

Random thought: Why, oh why.....couldn't that have been Naomi Campbell?

I'm just sayin'.........

Happy Thursday, y'all!

By the way.....I'm so in a great mood this morning because Georgie was on 2 shows today promoting "Leatherheads" (Opening nationwide tomorrow)........

The Today Show AND Live w/ Regis and Kelly --

He was charming and funny and looked very handsome......dressed all in black.

I'm serious.....is the guy Cary Grant reincarnated, or what?

(HEY, I'm not a stalker -- I prefer: "obsessive fanatic.")

Rickrolling: A Timeline

On April 1, Rickrolling became Public Enemy No. 1 to those devoted to serious Internet browsing. Since it’s always best to understand one’s enemy — and since tracking the evolution of this meme is a challenge worth undertaking — we thus present:

(Graph: Flickr user - Boyshaped box)

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE RICKROLL

1969: First message is sent via ARPANET (precursor of the Internet).

1987: Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up hits Number 1 in the United Kingdom.

2005: YouTube lauches online.

June 20, 2006: First appearance of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up video (as dubbed from VH1’s Pop-Up Video) appears on YouTube, uploaded by user belgianpassion. (As of April 2008, it has been viewed nearly 1.2 million times.)

March 29, 2007: The launch of the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV. When heavy site traffic makes the video unavailable, a user on the Internet board 4chan changes the GTAIV link to the video for Never Gonna Give You Up. The Encyclopedia Dramatica pinpoints this as the first use of the Rickroll.

May 2007: “Rick Rolling” first begins to appear in Google Trends searches.

May 28, 2007: “Official” You’ve Been RickRoll’d! upload of Never Gonna Give You Up appears online, courtesy of YouTube user YouGotRickRolled. As of April 2008, it has reached nearly 9 million views.

June 15, 2007: Wigantoday.net declares that “the Astley backlash is beginning.” Rickrolling is thus officially here to stay.

January 25, 2008: RickRolling the Baby is uploaded.

March 17, 2008: NextNewNetworks’ Tim Shey is Rickrolled live by Rocketboom’s Kenyatta Cheese.

March 24, 2008: The New York Times covers Rickroll in full.

March 28, 2008: LA Times’ David Sarno humanizes the Rickroll when he interviews Rick Astley. Astley considers the meme “hilarious.”

April 1, 2008: Every featured video on the front page of YouTube is a Rickroll.

???, The Future: We look back and wonder, why?

Hey, if you're interested in even more Rick Astley scoop......click the link below to check out an interview with Rick in last week's LA Times online.

Click Here: Los Angeles Times -- Rick Astley talks about his song's second-coming

They have a current picture of him (he looks pretty much the same, the hair is a little less poufy -- he's still fresh-faced, and seems pretty normal).

The article also has some audio bytes of his thoughts on the whole "Rickroll" craziness.....he's basically surprised and fairly amused by the whole thing.

Rick is getting ready to tour a few dates in the U.K. next month with some other 80's faves like:

Bananarama

ABC

and Paul Young

(Paul is one of my all-time faves.....he played at Springfest at Ohio University while I was there in the late 80's -- it was outside, rainy & muddy......he was totally awesome, and I've loved him ever since!).

Man, would I love to see that 80's reunion concert.

Oh well.....that's all for today guys. No more Rickroll stunts or info.

I promise.

I just found it all kinda interesting.......so I thought I'd share.

Have a great day!

Cagey :)
